I think you are right about the B-flat after that initial interval jump - that's a common incipit, in fact, and when I've seen it it's always flatted (see this hymn melody for another instance of it).

Thanks again for the transcription! That was so great....blsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11760886.post-3125208506809540632012-04-30T10:55:53.432-04:002012-04-30T10:55:53.432-04:00Unfortunatelly the responsory proves to be too har...Unfortunatelly the responsory proves to be too hard for me.
So I won't make any recording. But once there is the score, someone more skilled may attempt to make one.

I should add one more piece of information to it: I'm suspicious that the manuscript in it's notation ignored the difference between b-sharp and b-flat. (There were no b-flat marks, but some parts - especially the beginning of our responsory sounds strange to me with b-sharp.) So it may be up to the interpreter to use his musical sensibility and insert b-flat where needed...Jakub Pavlíkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01323058732251917687noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11760886.post-72245828137225266022012-04-30T09:00:01.248-04:002012-04-30T09:00:01.248-04:00Crazy, yes - but fun...!

We could create audio files of chants, and send them to one another for overlay; you could sing the first track, then send it to me. I could lay track 2 over your track, and send it on to somebody else.

We could get a chant choir sound that way! And it would be great fun, too....

Many thanks again!blsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11760886.post-1748329641472580242012-04-29T04:04:50.282-04:002012-04-29T04:04:50.282-04:00Hi, your post inspired me to transcribe the respon...Hi, your post inspired me to transcribe the responsory "Surrexit pastor bonus" from Antiphonarium Sedunense (Sitten, Germany; description and facsimile at http://www.e-codices.unifr.ch/en/description/acs/0001 ).
The score is here: http://inadiutorium.xf.cz/docasne/SurrexitPastor.pdf
(Free to use, publish anywhere else, etc. I can also provide the gabc source code if anyone wants it.)

Eventually I may try to make a recording later, but it won't be any good one - my chanting skills are really poor...Jakub Pavlíkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01323058732251917687noreply@blogger.com
